Tracks: Cranes

A case study conducted with California Steel evaluates the impact of visual aid technologies used on their overhead cranes. The cameras were installed on the cranes in order to increase the line of sight for the operators, so they can see on the blind side of the steel during crane picks. This case study discusses the techniques used, establishes some best practices and discusses the return on investment in a reduction of time and decrease in incidents. This project was tested, rolled out and evaluated over several years.
