Historical data analysis along the full production chain across multiple plant locations for continuous improvement is a big challenge for steel mills. Steel producers are still facing fragmented data islands and experience difficulties accessing and evaluating data due to the number of different sources. This paper will present the implementation of a unified data landscape featuring plant-wide big data through the application of a data warehousing solution optimized for long-term production data storage ready to explore machine learning and artificial intelligence applications.
