During casting operations, sufficient cooling water flow to the caster rolls is vital. Issues arise as the rotary union internal components experience wear, resulting in union "wobble." Flexible hoses for cooling water supply to and from the unions accommodate this movement, but existing swivel adapters are not full-flow and do not swivel after connection. To remedy this, a special full-flow live swivel is available that increases cooling water flow, accommodates union movements and reduces the fitting length, allowing for longer flexible hose length to improve performance and reduce hose replacement frequency.
