Development of an estimation model for surface roughness in a Continous Galvanizing Line (Room 310)

Steelmaking companies are supplying cold-rolled products to various automobile customers, and each customer requires various and suitable surface roughness ranges in each vehicle model and part type. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the process conditions of the skinpass mill in the continuous galvanizing line. In this study, the relationship between each process condition and the surface roughness is formulated based on the big data of the process records in continuous galvanizing line. Finally, by developing a mathematical model, the optimal skinpass mill process conditions are presented considering the surface roughness of work roll and the production order.
