Innovation in the Analysis of Ultrasonic Cleanliness Test Data for Hot-Rolled Steels (Room 309)

A way to detect macroinclusions is through ultrasonic testing, although the analysis and interpretation of the test results are difficult to understand. With the results of inspection, we have information regarding the location of the macroinclusions and therefore their distribution throughout the material. However, establishing criteria to classify the material as to its purity has been a difficult task. This paper aims establish a data analysis tool to be used for quality control of hot-rolled steel . The results show a positive feasibility of applying this analytical model to evaluate the level of purity of hot-rolled steel.
