Substations for Industry 4.0 Steel Plants (Room 316)

This paper compares the design and construction of a digital substation with a conventional substation. An executed conventional substation is redesigned with the digital concept, and the comparative results are shown. The digital substation design is then advanced into an Industry 4.0 concept. Increased maintenance and operational efficiencies, utilization and reliability due to the integration with the plant’s digital platform are explored.
