DRI reformer catalysts are based on technology that is an afterthought from syngas reforming. Magma has reviewed the catalyst failure modes to redesign, from first principles, a catalyst that is optimized for DRI reforming. We present a multi-faceted view of the performance issues seen by reformer users together with technical advancements to reduce or remove the catalyst failure modes. We present a new, optimized-for-DRI reforming series of catalyst developments. The presentation is technical in nature, with five years of research-backed data.
