It is widely known that precise movement of the oscillator is important for operation stability in the caster. If the oscillator is managed more strictly, trouble in the caster will be reduced, but maintenance costs also will be increased. POSCO has operated an oscillator with a monitoring system since 2009 in the mini-mill caster, CEM. In this paper, the oscillator and monitoring system, self-developed, are introduced, and then operation stability is analyzed with the oscillator state based on accumulated data to find the proper management point of the oscillator.
