Siemens SeaFloat Power Plant Solutions - an Evolution of our Portfolio to the Sea (Room Garuda 12, 1st Floor)

Siemens is pleased to introduce SeaFloat Power Plants as an addition to our power & gas portfolio. The SeaFloat concept uses Siemens’ proven equipment and reliable technology and optimizes these solutions for a floating application. All open cycle and combined cycle power plants can be installed on barges, ships or floating platforms depending on project specific boundaries and business cases. The evolution of power plants from land to the sea is currently based on our successful gas turbines SGT-800, SGT-A65, SGT5-8000H and can be extended to any other gas turbine frame upon request. Revenue is increased by shortening the power plant installation cycle - thereby delivering power faster than a traditional shore-based solution. Together with our trusted partners and customers we will bring development and deployment to remote areas with lack of electricity. Furthermore high investments for land acquisition or enormous mitigation for soil risk are not required anymore. In the case of repowering an older power plant (e.g. coal plant), the existing asset can continuously generate power until the SeaFloat plant is built. The substitution of old power plants results in reduction of global CO2 emissions. We have identified a growing market in south-east Asia and Pacific for mobile and flexible power generation as well as the home region of leading shipyards as our trusted partners. The paper will describe our concept, which comprises the complete SeaFloat power plant solution for power supply to the grid or load. It will also describe the capabilities of SeaFloat power generation installations, the flexible location of those power plants, and the components of the solution, including the gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSG, and the optimizations made to fulfill the requirements of a SeaFloat installation. It will highlight the benefits of a “plug and play” concept for yards and end customers due to pre-engineered solutions and the single lift installation advantages.
