People with higher-than-average IQs are more difficult to diagnose for ADHD. Undiagnosed adults with ADHD are more prone to addictive or risky behaviors, thrill seeking, impulsivity, and poor self-care habits, including sleep deprivation, lack of exercise, and poor diet. Furthermore, this group also more likely to experience anxiety and depression. As if having a high IQ isn’t enough pressure to succeed, having ADHD can cause the individual to blame themselves in an unhealthy way, causing further isolation. So what do you need to succeed if you think you have ADHD? Finding community support is the first step in improving daily life. Finding trustworthy information is the easy part, getting started that’s the trick. Procrastination, perfectionism, and time blindness are pitfalls we will discuss in a humorous discussion. Squirrel!
