Contract Administration (Room Sierra)

09 Jan 18
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Procurement professionals invest substantial amounts of time in the solicitation, sourcing, negotiating and contract award functions.  We invest in training our staffs, our customers and our suppliers in how to write, issue, evaluate and award solicitations, how to best evaluate submittals, how to best negotiate the contracts and how to do a better job of putting together a proposal.  But many times, after working so hard to get that “ideal” contract, we turn around and simply toss the contract into the lap of our customer, congratulate them on being named the Contract Manager and wish them the best.  Worse, we are then shocked and frustrated when we find out months later that the contract users haven’t cracked open the contract to verify they are paying the right price, that the service is even acceptable or that they’ve been fighting with the supplier for months over non-performance.  What happened?  Better yet, what didn’t happen?  The answer? Contract Administration!  Contract Administration continues to be our weak link in our procurement armor….the Achilles Heel of our organizations.  Let’s get together to talk about how you can reduce your agency’s legal and financial risk, help your suppliers be more successful and save your customers time, money and heartache.
