9:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Tracks: Theme: Europe's Transitioning Power Sector

A presentation of the results of several surveys about motivation factors for employees in the power generation industry. The Utility industry in Europe is under pressure and change. Energiewende, renewables, changing demand patterns but also lowered demands and a desire to lower the emissions makes it a world of constant change. This presentation will in particular present the main motivation factors for the total power generation industry but also comparing similarities and differences for staff working in different sources of power generation. Is there a difference of how to motivate staff in wind power with how to best motivate staff in thermal power generation? Are there similarities in staff’s trust in the future development of their line of power generation? The presentation will be based on several surveys conducted in the different industries during the winter 2014/15. The invitations to participate in these surveys will be issued globally. I.e: the wind survey gained answers from many countries in Europe, America, Africa and South Pacific.
