Wireless sensor network (WSN) is composed of tiny sensors and they are powered by energy-constraint battery. To maximize network lifetime in WSN the paths for data transfer need to be selected in such a way that the total energy consumed along the path is minimized. Attendees will learn six key aspects: State-of-the art research trend of wireless sensor network and future research direction, how to make it energy-efficient by utilizing various techniques, what are the available routing protocols and how they work, classification of routing protocols based on various network features, explore cluster based hierarchical routing protocols, how to reduce the communication time with base station by using effective structure.
