The semiconductor industry is entering a period where many of the traditional drivers of growth are changing and the pace of technological innovation is slowing.  Traditional semiconductor industry drivers such as PCs and Smartphones are maturing, and are not capable of maintaining historical growth rates.  China is embarking on an ambitious program to re-shape the industry. The Internet of Things will generate increasing opportunities for mature technology, but it’s impact on big data is uncertain. This presentation will present an overview of our latest forecasts for the semiconductor industry, capital spending and equipment markets, and will examine the challenges to the equipment industry emerging from changing growth patterns.
