Modifications to diagnostic criteria in the DSM-5 include significant changes for PTSD, including separate criteria for children under the age of 6. The presenters will review characteristics of trauma in young children, developmental presentations of PTSD, the new DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, and practical implications for counselors in the assessment and treatment of child survivors of trauma.
