ID #301-School Administrators and School Counselors: Merging Two Realities (Room 513C)

School counseling district leaders bridge the often divergent worldviews of school counselors and administrators. Qualitative study results provide school district counseling leaders’ insights on the most important challenges to the profession of school counseling. Issues identified include large caseloads, advocacy for school counselor roles, development, supervision, identity, and professional development. Implications for school counselors, administrators, and counselor educators will be explored.
