Individuals of Middle Eastern/North African descent in the U.S. number approximately 3.5 million, including an increasingly high number of youth. These youth face a myriad of adversities such as stereotyping and profiling, leading to microaggressions and other harmful acts of discrimination in their schools and communities. The presenters will present and discuss a regional U.S.-based focus group study, including methods for qualitative analyses, emergent themes, and implications for practice, policy, and future research.
