National statistics and reports indicate that military personnel and returning veterans may face multiple challenges. Counselors must use best practices to address the unique needs of military personnel, veterans, and families. Research supports the use of narrative techniques with military/veteran clients. Peer-to-peer approaches also have been valuable in the reintegration process. This session will discuss narrative and peer-to-peer approaches for working with military/veteran clients in counseling settings.
