The Black Church has a legacy of fighting oppression; however, many of its congregations have worked against antidiscrimination efforts for LGB people. This presents complex dynamics for LGB African Americans and their families who have ties to the Black Church. Attendees will learn strategies to provide culturally sensitive services to LGB individuals and their families who are members of the Black Church.
