Professional counselors in clinical and school setting have an ethical imperative to affirm, respect, and promote social justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQQIA) youth, teens, and their families (ALGBTIC, 2009; ALGBTIC LGBQQIA Competencies Taskforce, 2013). The purpose of this roundtable is to provide a framework for facilitating an empowering and affirming LGBTQ+ youth group.
