The company officer is a critical component of departments large and small; they set the tone for the work ethic, training, and accountability. They are also key players who can stifle or foster their subordinates’ professional development through the course of their career. This class is geared toward fire officers and those aspiring to be, but battalion, division, assistant, deputy, and department chiefs can also gain insight relative to their subordinate ranking members and, arguably, their most valuable departmental position.
