Preplanning for the Wildland Fire (Room 107-108)

This class focuses on preplanning your community for a wildland fire, including identifying target hazards, creating an incident action plan, developing a strategy for the local fire department and responding agencies to follow, and ensuring the community’s involvement with hazard mitigation techniques. Students learn how to formulate a public education program using modern technology and flipped classroom techniques that helps the customers become good stewards of the community. Among topics covered are how to form structure protection teams based on the community or subdivision hazard mitigation and incorporating modern technology for crew tracking, preplanning, and structure triage.
