Tracks: Future of EdTech Educator

Many digital citizenship lessons are structured in a similar fashion: students are given a scenario, asked to identify the wrong-doing, and given some tips, rules, or strategies for avoiding that wrongdoing themselves. Unfortunately, we often fail to have students reflect on their own digital habits, experiences, and goals. In this session, you will see how powerful images (in the forms of statement art and political cartoons) can help students open up about their online experiences, reflect on their own roles as digital citizens, and inspire them to create their own statements about life in a digital age. This engaging, interactive session will leave you with plenty of ideas to implement in your classroom immediately.
