Application of On-Line Laser Detector of Burden Surface Profile on Chaoyang No. 1 Blast Furnace at AnSteel (Room 405)

A newly designed on-line laser detector system was applied on the Chaoyang No. 1 blast furnace (2600 m3) at AnSteel. Using two laser scanners and one special top camera, the images of burden surface and laser grid lines were gained during blast furnace production. Then the burden surface profile curves and data were obtained by an image processing program, which could help improving the blast furnace charging operation. With this on-line laser detector system, the Chaoyang No. 1 blast furnace changed the charging operation and achieved good results. The pig iron output increased, coke ratio decreased, and energy conservation and emission reductions were achieved.
