Weird Science is part stand-up comedy, part journal club, and part citizen science project. To promote critical thinking skills, Dr. Robert Pyatt will lead the audience in a discussion of some of the strangest science studies ever conducted, such as Skipping and Hopping in Undergraduate (Students): Recollections of When and Why, Transplanting Beavers by Airplane and Parachute, and Testing the Danish Myth That Alcohol Can Be Absorbed Through the Feet. Attendees will also participate in a science study as they try to independently replicate the results from another oddball science study. But you’ll have to come to the event to see what we’re studying or we’ll bias our results!
