The revision of Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of the national power utility, PT PLN (Persero), has stated the target energy mix for renewable power generation rises from 19.6% to 22.5% by 2025. It is also supported by Indonesian government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources by issuing a decree about the utilization of renewable energy for power generation. In Sumatera and Kalimantan, there are a lot of potencies to develop renewable power plant using biomass energy both from large- and small-scale biomass producers. For several large-scale biomass producers, they tend to be easier to utilize their biomass waste into electrical energy for internal use and surrounding. However, for small-scale producers, a specific concept is required to assist them in implementing the concept of integrated farming. Therefore, this paper presents a comprehensive concept and strategy for optimizing the utilization of bioenergy in Indonesia. The concept is basically designed to establish sort of a biomass center entity for small-scale producers, which focus on managing the strategy for the producers, specifically the product identification (commodities and its secondary product), technology identification both for farming and power generation along with storage management. By implementing this concept, it is expected the utilization of biomass waste for electrical energy can be optimized and also this concept is expected to be implemented for other renewable energy.
