2018 AFCEA TechNet Augusta Conference and Expo

Track 1: Integrating CEMA into Unified Land Operations, Session 3: "Building the Force" (Room Lamar B/C)

The Army's challenge today is to continue to mature and expand its workforce to meet both Army and Joint requirements.  This presentation will provide useful insights into the current state of the Army's Cyberspace IT, Security, and Effects workforces; as well as, thoughts on future expansions. As the Department of Defense Cyberspace Workforce continues to mature, the Army Cyber and Signal Corps continue to refine recruiting, training, development, and employment of the Army's contribution to this Joint workforce.  While the Army Signal Corps has provided the Army's portion of the DoD Cyberspace IT workforce for decades and by 2010 had created the Army's Cyberspace Security Workforce, with its decision in 2014 to create a separate and distinct workforce specifically focused on Cyberspace Effects the Army became DoD Directive 8140 compliant a whole year prior to its publication.
