112 - Total Worker Health Update: What the Occupational Health Professional Needs to Know (Room 26B)

The concept of Total Worker Health focuses on safety and health of an employee at work and at home. Employers are beginning to move toward a TWH concept by advancing the level of education and care being offered to employees at work and outside of the work setting in an effort to decrease workplace injury and illness. A recent study of occupational health professionals was completed to explore occupational nurses’ level of understanding regarding TWH knowledge and various factors related to how change is perceived by the nurses and the organization. In this session, we’ll explore the concepts of TWH and moving toward a TWH program in an occupational health setting.
