Guidelines and Regulatory Changes: Understanding the Review of Construction and Operation Plans (Room Capitol B)

As BOEM and the offshore renewable energy industry have developed since the governing regulations were promulgated in 2009, BOEM is assessing existing processes and trying to identify where regulations can be improved.  The five areas currently being discussed for regulatory updates are: geotechnical requirements, decommissioning accounts, meteorological buoys, certified verification agents, and auction regulations. This undertaking is also analyzing what effects such changes may have on related provisions, how best to harmonize changes throughout the code, and any technical corrections needed.
