Michigan’s comprehensive response to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination illustrates the challenges of investigating and developing an appropriate response to an emerging contaminant of concern. This presentation will cover Michigan’s systematic approach to understanding the occurrence of PFAS in the environment and will highlight the partnership between the waste disposal industry and regulatory agency to evaluate PFAS in landfill leachate.
