The plethora of digital content solutions available for K-12 today is a double-edged sword – lots of options (good news) but that makes it more difficult than ever for educators to evaluate quality and appropriateness for classroom usage (not such good news). In this workshop we examine existing research on teachers’ and principals’ views on the top characteristics of high-quality digital content. Using a new research-based rubric, participants will collectively evaluate a collection of existing digital products for quality, rigor and applicability for K-12 classrooms, and then use that new knowledge to create their own customized set of the most important quality criteria when evaluating digital content.
