Tracks: Future of EdTech Information Technology

Email is where the majority of spam, spoofing, phishing and ransomware infiltrate our organizations. We will take you on a journey to understand Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance -- an email validation system designed to detect and prevent email spoofing. DMARC is built on top of two existing mechanisms, Sender Policy Framework and DomainKeys Identified Mail. These mechanisms add a layer of protection that authenticates and validates messages sent and received in any email server. Not for the faint of heart! Learning objectives: 1) Understand the triad of email security mechanisms; 2) Learn how to deploy DMARC, DKIM, and SPF in your organization; and 3) Understand why it's important and how it can help mitigate risk.
