Future of EdTech Administrator
Per national research, students in many rural communities often lack access to digital tools in school and at home. Low cost, convenient tablets can solve the access problem, but teachers’ skills using these devices for instruction still lag. Over the past three years, four rural schools in Kentucky have partnered with the University of Kentucky College of Education to implement an innovative program where in-service and pre-service teachers coach each other on effective strategies for using mobile, wireless technologies within STEM education. This panel discussion will examine research findings from this program as well as lessons learned for university faculty and school administration about creating optimum environments for effective use of technology in K-12 education.
