This is not your granddads' fire & rescue department anymore. Over the last 18 years, America's first responders have responded to and mitigated a wide variety of complex events, including terrorist attacks. However, the terrorism landscape is ever-changing, and public safety professionals are forced to adapt, train, and manage high threat incidents. If you have a responsibility to respond to a terrorist event, you should not miss this. This presentation will highlight a variety of global attacks and focus on modern first responder challenges. Further, this presentation will compare our domestic preparedness activities and provide recommendations for training, policy, and collaboration.
