DM4 | Managing Where the ADA, FMLA and Workers’ Comp Intersect (Room Islander D-E)

The ADA, FMLA, and Workers’ Compensation laws impact employer decisions when an injured or disabled employee is out of work, returning, being terminated or works with a disability. This session will offer strategies for managing related issues, such as notice requirements, engaging in the interactive process, and avoiding legal violations. You’ll hear real-life scenarios faced by a large governmental employer and learn how it implemented best practices for leaves, accommodations, and to avoid running afoul of the laws. A comprehensive overview of the laws will not be included so the focus can be on practical tips.
