Deep Dive Workshops
Memory care programs are at the forefront of both new construction and renovation projects. In order to inform and prioritize environmental design approaches, it is critical to systematically evaluate strategies that support safety and equitable access for diverse user needs including those associated with memory loss. With more than a dozen validated environmental assessment tools available, which should you use? This deep dive will compare and contrast the different tools and discuss design considerations for their appropriate use. Presenters will highlight how tools can be used to assess environmental supports for the physical, cognitive, and social well-being of occupants as well as identify strategies to elevate the human experience through design. Resources for how to access the tools will also be provided.
