Deep Dive Workshops
The realities of COVID-19 have reminded us of how design shapes our experiences and either creates opportunities or presents challenges under different situations. Recognizing the opportunity to capture the processes and outcomes in real time, the Facility Guidelines Institute convened an Emergency Conditions Committee of researchers, architects, providers, and authorities having jurisdiction to collect case studies and evidence-based information, identify solutions, craft recommendations, and establish minimum standards to address contagions as well as a wide variety of emergency conditions including weather-related emergencies, natural disasters, and hostile trespass. This deep dive will highlight the resulting recommendations and minimum requirements put forth by the Residential Health, Care and Support Facilities Subcommittee for inclusion in the Guidelines.
