As America ages, we are facing a potential crisis of both housing and healthcare, exacerbated by systemic racial and socioeconomic inequities. Where a person lives determines many health outcomes, especially for older adults. In order to address these growing challenges, Urban Housing Solutions has created an intergenerational, arts-inspired affordable housing community in North Nashville, Tenn. From architectural design to program design and technology to financing, this session will explore the process of simultaneously building an apartment community and a network of partners to support the health and well-being of multiple generations of residents, reinforcing the idea that housing is healthcare.
