Given what now know about critical elements of the pandemic reaction, most shared common areas in senior living communities need to be reevaluated regarding design. The goal of this approach is to create a space that requires little to no remodeling during a time of pandemic, but still creates a common area that can be “flexed” into an area that is conducive to social distancing. Presenters will cover codes that are already in place while looking at a more robust design solution to build on the guidelines and safety objectives that have evolved within the past year, including permanent and non-permanent features.
