Discussing multiple kinds of “smartness” here would seem to raise the question of whether or not there is such a thing as spiritual intelligence, or SQ. What makes a person “good at” Christianity, or at religion, or at holiness? Is there a unique or particular acumen that the saints and clergy have? And what, if anything, does the conventionally smart world of IQ have to benefit from presumably spiritually smart individuals? As a religious leader, Pastor Ryan believes spirituality is something that all people possess, regardless of religious status, and he will make the case that there are actually four different and contrasting aspects of what it takes to be talented in the world of the faithful (regardless of what faith); these are Orthodoxy, Ecstatic Transcendence, Mysticism, and Work. Which of these four is supreme depends largely on your answer to the following: Is it better to have the best answers, or the best questions?
