It has been said that the best thing about hitting bottom is, when we do, we have no place else to go but up. Such was the case with Shannon. At the age of 27, she found herself at the bottom of a life that was no longer tolerable. With no place to turn, she found faith and peace. It was the beginning of a love story that continues to unfold day by day. Shannon is a mental health peer support specialist and an incest and rape survivor. She is the author of Exposed and Redeemed and founder of Hopeful Hearts Ministry. Shannon has spoken across the United States and internationally, addressing the realities and effects of abuse in our culture and the graces faith provides for one’s healing journey. In this talk, Shannon candidly shares the steps to resiliency for personal growth and success beyond the suffering of past emotional and sexual abuse that led her down a path of hostility, anger, and discontent that affected both her personal and professional life.
