Broad theme: No matter if you’re single, in a relationship, or somewhere in between, it is important to recognize the unique ways people in your life feel loved and appreciated. Sometimes kind words or washing the dishes can mean so much more than buying someone diamond earrings or the latest gadget. Catering to these preferences nurtures a relationship by showing someone that you are “speaking their language.” Discovering what your own love language is can provide an opportunity to start a dialogue about your needs, too. Objectives: Listeners will learn what the five love languages are and identify what their own love language is. Subtopics: Through an activity, you’ll discover what your love language is; we’ll discuss love language research origins and evolutions, as well as applications in relationships and beyond.
