In a world of increasingly rapid technological change, globalization and highly knowledgeable workers, what can you do to ensure safety and health remain a priority? How do you get your voice heard? The answer: influence skills. Leadership and management programs address influence skills but focus on formal influence. The challenges are flattening hierarchies and decreasing paths of formal influence. In this session, you’ll learn the differences between formal and informal influence, how to build an influence base – including leading by example, establishing yourself as an expert, and recognizing and praising others for a job well done – and common mistakes made when building informal influence.
