Computer Vision AI for Forklift Safety at Owens Corning: A Case Study (Room 31 C)

Join us to learn how a computer vision artificial intelligence system accurately and continuously tracks people, forklifts and inventory to improve warehouse safety. A large amount of high-quality traffic data from the system enables an improved understanding of workplace hazards. In this session, we’ll discuss how AI scans for unsafe conditions such as forklift speed, distance from people and distance from fixed obstructions such as shelving supports. Employees are fully aware of the computer vision cameras, and their identities are hidden by face-blurring. The system has enabled Owens Corning to improve safety processes and training while respecting employee privacy.
