Beyond the Bradley Curve - New ways of thinking about the safety continuum (Room 29 D)

21 Sep 22
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Tracks: Continuous Improvement

The Bradley Curve was created by DuPont in 1995 to try and measure culture and safety performance. The world has changed since its introduction. There needs to be a better way to think about safety culture. In particular, the roles of data and technology have accelerated our capabilities to keep employees safe at work. The concept that 'I will be my brother's keeper' is rapidly fading out of the world of work. Instead, inherently safe design, technologically based barriers, high reliability organizations and predictive analytics are becoming the norm. This session will propose some new ways of thinking about safety culture.
