Opioid misuse among young adults is a growing problem; the population most likely to misuse opioids in the past year was young adults aged 18-25, the age range with largest rate of overdose is 24-35. NSC research found that adult respondents lacked in-depth knowledge of opioids and there were few prevention-focused programs targeting adolescents. NSC developed an employee education program designed to increase awareness of opioids. Employees will then connect with their families with the overall goal of reducing injuries and fatalities due to opioid misuse. This session will provide background, program structure and initial evaluation feedback and impact from the pilot program that will take place over summer 2022.
