Anomalous temperature spikes at the top, thermal work of the furnace shaft and the causes of chilled hearth during blow-in were analyzed. Calculating the parameters of blow-in in the form of a field of propagation velocities of temperature zones is proposed, which makes it possible to determine the time and place of the beginning and completion of the melting of the blow-in burden layers in the furnace. The use of mono-burden (special agglomerate) for blow-in burden was discussed. Recommendations for preparation, methods for predictive assessment of the hearth and moisture removal have been developed.
