The Tenova Hydrogen SmartBurner for Reheating: Analysis of the Industrial Results in TenarisDalmine (Room 401)

This paper presents the Tenova SmartBurner technology: TSX (recuperative flameless for reheating applications) and TRKSX (self-recuperative flameless for heat treatment) ready-to-use H2 as fuel up to 100%. In both cases, NOx in the operative range from 100% NG to 100% H2 is well below the next future limits: <80 mg/Nm3 at 5% of O2 with furnace at 1,250°C and air above 500°C. The ongoing development will be completed with the installation on TenarisDalmine's furnace. A propaedeutic analysis of the effect of atmosphere generated by the combustion of a NG/H2 mixture on main TenarisDalmine products will be also analyzed.
