High-Emissivity Coating "FuelSave": The Technology and Its Uses in Reheating Furnaces and Pellet Plants

The intent of this paper is to introduce technology of the high-emissivity coating FuelSave and its benefits for steel industry. It is a novel, single-phase high-emissivity coating that improves productivity, reduces specific energy consumption in the range of 5 to 15%, prevents slag buildup and adhesion on refractory, protects refractory, and enhances its service life. FuelSave is being used on multiple facilities of several major steel producers with validated data pre- and post-usage.
