JSPL Angul, India, a steel company with plant capacity of 6.0 millions tons per year, has a blast furnace and direct reduced iron plant, steel meltshop with one 250-ton-capacity basic oxygen furnace and one 250-ton-capacity electric arc furnace (EAF). During January 2019, JSPL planned to implement a chemical energy package revamp on the EAF to increase the productivity. This revamp consisted in a new EAF chemical package supplied by Lumar Metals. The paper shows the project development and operational results.
